A Happy Mother’s Day post is up!
Sorry I did not get it up last night….
This is a bitter sweet day for me because my mom died when I was very young. That’s why Michelle tearing up while talking about her mom does not get an emotional response from me. Has Michelle actually ever had to deal with something negative in her life? Seems like people have bent over backwards to clear her way all the way to the White House. Gaining weight seems to be the hardest thing she has had to deal with.
Birdie, I am so sorry for your loss. To lose one’s mother at a young age must be devastating. Even though I was middle aged when my mother passed away, I still miss her.
We always miss our mothers, I think that is a common bond for most women, it is our earliest and usually, deepest connection.
There is a website whose name somewhat escapes me..something like “my mom the fashionista”. Wish I could remember the name, but women and some men post photos, some quite old, of their moms, and write so movingly about them, it is very touching.

Thank you, conner43! I had a very special mom. I have only snippets of memories and one of the cute ones was when I wanted to paint my fingernails as a 5 year old. She asked to see my fingers and patted me on the cheek and said: “Fingernail polish cannot be used on dirty fingernails because that could cause an infection. When you learn to keep your nails clean then we will paint them.” She took a sample from under my nails and showed me with a microscope what was going on there – she was a scientist first, then a mom! It took me only a couple of days to remember to wash my nails, for life.

Michelle is one of those folks who always and forever, generalizes personal experience. It is the classic narcissist’s attitude.
She also has re written her own history of a middle class, 2 parent upbringing, in a working class neighborhood. She now chooses to ghetto -ize herself, in a show of solidarity with the less fortunate.
The group of kids I have been working with this year, has 4 out of 10 accepted into top schools, and the balance into excellent state schools with generous scholarships..
For once, she was truthful when she said she doesn’t follow current events. If she picked up a paper once in a while, she would know that there are lots of highly motivated and accomplished kids out there, with scholarship awards being listed in a number of articles.
She is sooo last century..
There are a few kids in my neighborhood who are getting scholarships. Two of them go to the Science Academy, one of them attends the Academy of Arts. There was one Puerto Rican girl who got a full ride to the University of Georgia.
Mo is very much out of touch due to her self centered life. No matter who she talks to it has to be about her, her kids or her creds.
LOL – have you ever heard her not mention something about herself if she has to talk more than 5 minutes. In her news free zone she is experiencing the news – is she a medium? – the only way she can relate to anything – how she feels about it, how it ties to her other experiences. I like people talking about themselves, to get to know them, but we have heard Michelle say word for word the same things over and over. Enough already.
She thinks it was somekind of wonderful that she managed to get an Ivy league law degree. What did she do with it? Where you graduate from usually only gives you and edge for the first couple of jobs after graduation. After that, a person’s track record and experience can eclipse an Ivy league degree. One of the smartest, most energetic, creative, and well spoken engineers I had the pleasure to work with was a fresh-out BS graduate from University of El Paso. He was the son of a policeman. Even as a 25 year old he would have made Michelle look uneducated. It was amazing to talk with him because he could discuss just about any subject I could talk about. He never bragged about his rapid rise thru the ranks. It was obvious to everyone who knew him that he fully deserved every promotion.
Michelle has to keep talking about herself, repeat her “incredible” story, to assure herself and others that she is something very special and 100% perfect at anything she does. Other people let their record speak for itself. How many hundreds of times have we heard or read about her education and career? Her career is mediocre at best, and the best job she got was thru Obama’s connections. I read that no one has been hired to fill her old position. And please don’t suggest that they can’t find anyone talented enough to replace her!
