An article about MOOCH and how she moves? No, I was disappointed, no funny MOOCH photos there.
Hurlbutt Elementary School and Chartwells food service received the bronze award in the Healthier U.S. School Challenge.
Who gives names like “Hurlbutt” to schools?? Whoever wrote the article must have written the title giggling. And who gives the family the last name “Mothershead?” Did little Jimmy Mothershead go to Hurlbutt? I don’t know but I worked with him in the 80s. We teased him, and I can only imagine how popular target that name was during school…….”Is your mother’s head in that bag?”
As you can tell, I’m not reading any news. I lost my glasses and hope to get the new ones today.
Happy the weekend, OPEN THREAD!

The name stops me flat. Of course, if MoochMORE is involved, it does seem to have significance, but I doubt they renamed the school in her honor.
Doesn’t it sound as if they should hold a dwarf tossing contest there?
I looked up the history of “Hurlbutt” as a surname because I couldn’t find anything on the town of Hurlbutt, Connecticut. Here’ s a quote, “I was told that the name originated from the training of broadswordsmen. The Hurlbutt was the person who threw logs of wood at the swordsman, so he could practise the swing technique for slicing off the opponent’s limbs, heads etc.”
Which explanation also sounds appropriate as an association with our Moo.
Very good “dwarf tossing contest” I giggled madly.
I had a friend whose uncle’s name was “Harry Butts” . . . she has some very funny stories surrounding the name.
I knew someone named “Peg Leg.”
And my parents knew someone named “Stark White.”
I knew a gal in high school…her name was Slim Pickens. My folks went nuts the first time I told them I was going to the movie with her. It was only after I told them that her dad was Homer Pickens, the Fish and Game Warden, that I was allowed to go.
When I was in college, there was a doctor at the health center named Doctor Wokter.
I’m not sure where we’re supposed to go from here.
Sounds like an open thread to me!!
It’s been a whole lot of years since I was ‘in charge’ of young children. But, I do remember that getting them to run around or jump up and down wasn’t the problem; the problem was to get them to sit still.
Teenagers are the ones to be encouraged and they don’t seem interested in moving anything.
I remember trying to get them out of bed in the morning.
LOL
… after they stay up all night…
Ours are very active…even the 18 year old. All of them involved in sports since the age of 4. Everyone has to do something, I insisted. Besides being healthy for them, they are usually too tired to cause much trouble….
It’s Friday, and I’m not feeling well, and in a really crappy mood. So, let’s go here…
The Smithsonian’s new exhibit…”The First Ladies”. I can’t believe they weren’t cleaned, or re-made, or something….
http://www.daylife.com/photo/08D0aGX7h3auU?__site=daylife&q=michelle+obama
LOL
…….. size 14 Jimmy Choos!!….with dirty toe marks….LOL
EW, she didn’t wear hose even to the Inaugural Balls. Yes, our MoochMORE is historic — how TOOMOO can one be?
Oh you are so right Lynn II, dirty toe marks. Does it look like the shoews were widened with bunions?
I noticed that earlier. First, they could have been sprayed to keep them from absorbing too much oil from the skin. Second, they are relatively easy to clean. Third, since they were custom made, it is impossible to imagine that the fabric wasn’t covered or replaced before they went on display. This is simply indicative of the low rent feet that were stuffed into those boats.
I’ve visited that display many times since I was a child, and when she donated the dress and shoes, the thought that went through my mind was that they probably bought a second pair of shoes in a smaller size – LOL!
I neglected to add……….I was apparently wrong!
I saw those gunboats in person. I wish I paid better attention, but I think both designers were credited with the donations of dress and shoes, not the MO. How Red Carpet of her to wear donated designer clothes
Can’t wait to back now, the First Ladies exhibit is one of my DC must see stops. I only wish they’d put MO and Nancy Reagan’s dresses next to each other….lol.
OMG! (Obama Must Go)
Feel better soon…
It’s the holiday blues for me! Having only two blood-relatives in this country almost makes me feel like an alien. It’s only now looking back that I realize what I missed by moving here. But I can’t complain, life here has been very good, until Obama was elected. Many dark winter months are now ahead for the Nordic peoples and I would never want to live thru that again — the winters are mild but sooo dark and gloomy. Same as Alaska, Anchorage is at about the same latitude as Stockholm, Oslo and Helsinki.
Oh Birdie, if you hadn’t come to the US we would not know you!! When I’m on this blog of yours I feel like I’m with family.
I sympathize, Birdie. My family has dwindled and stopped having any Thanksgiving repast or even a gather, so I am trying to decide which turkey microwave meal to buy. West Virginians are supposed to be so hospitable, but no one ever thinks to ask, “What are you doing on the holiday?” I make a great guest and am eager to bring something and help and be an addition to the festivities, but no one ever inquires until afterward. Then when the same people ask, “What did you do for the holidays?” and I say, “Nothing.” They act surprised — EVERY YEAR.
My sad-for-me interlude is now over.
Sooo, why not have a potluck type thing and invite some people you know who may not have anyone?
We did a Christmas Eve one year like that.
All right, girl. You know who does a neighborhood or extended family dinner, whatever. Take a giant step and ask for an invitation and a dish-list. I’ve done it…first time it was hard. But I had a great time. Forget the microwave meal…take a forward step and go mingle.
What area of West Virginia?
It is the same for my husband and I. We have no close relatives in California to share the holidays. We do share with good friends though.
It’s like that for hubby & I as well. At least his family still speaks to him. Mine hasn’t for 7 years. They’ve always treated me badly, and, on Christmas Eve 7 years ago, it finally got to me (there was also another distant family member treating DH badly for no good reason–he supposedly reached into a freezer case at the store, and didn’t say hello to them–but he had only met them once, over a year before, and probably didn’t recognize them!). I expressed my anger over them snubbing him at the family party (after they left). Everyone, including Mom, sided with my SIL’s sister! I have a family 4 miles away, but yet I don’t. Mom died in June, too. Holidays are very lonely in my house.
People who take sides and refuse to listen to reason over minor incidents such as the “freezer case incident” are a puzzle to me. In one branch of my family one side threw off the other forever because they were overlooked when they were not sent an invitation to a quickly arranged marriage (I know what that sounds like — lol — but the bride was not pregnant). It was just a matter of bad luck, but they would not accept apologies or explanations.
I volunteer at santa houses and parades and caroling and do forth and that builds some Christmas feeling into that season, but it’s like Christmas- and Thanksgiving-lite if you dont’ have a place to go.
I am hoping that somewhere down the line I will make friends or relatives will move closer and more social holidays will revive again. I hope the same for you, too.
I am in the same boat. Back in the 1990′s, after I was divorced, I moved close to my mom and dad (about 15 miles). As my parents aged, I was there, every doctor visit, every emergency. My Mom died in 1991. My big sis,who lives 1500 miles away, declared that “Dad needs to put in a home, because he doesn’t know how to operate the washing machine”…but we managed (his underwear was not always Clorox white, but it was clean). I took care of him thru two major surgeries…back and hip replacement. When it came time to bring in part time hospice…I did that. Dad died at peace in his own bed and it was the hardest thing I’ve ever done. But…I know I did the right thing. My creepy siblings all threw a fit because he gave me the house. Geez…2 of 4 hadn’t even seen him in 4 years!
Oh wow….there are some members of my family who do that…what they perceive as a “slight” becomes the basis for gossip and affront. I’ve always thought people like that lacked maturity and were control freaks.
Believe me, I did everything I could to be friendly and cordial until I decided it wasn’t worth it to be around people who are that self centered and self serving.
Honestly, to think something that minute would cause so much harm tells me the two who felt slighted have very small lives and don’t think much beyond themselves. They should have given him the benefit of the doubt and spoken first. Wow…just wow.
My oldest sister would have grabbed everything if my parents had not decided before they died who would get what. Still my oldest sister did try to cheat my middle sister and I out of our part ownership in my paremts’ home or any money left by cuddling up to my dad’s second wife. That person pulled a fast one on my oldest sister and I had to step in with a lawyer to save the house from the greedy wife who would have left to her own daughter. We got the house, but lost the annuity money my parents had put in their will. My dad’s wife knew my dad was starting dementia and she quicky got him to a lawyer and changed how my parents’s will was set up for we three girls. My dad died without knowing any of this happened as he was in a nursing home. So I know greed can make family members turn against one another.
Well, I’d have a potluck, but a chronic illness makes planning anything pretty impossible. However, if I planned for next year, starting now, perhaps I could pull it off, especially since I now have a decent sized table. Thank you for hte idea.
As for inviting myself somewere, I don’t know any large extended families and hesitate to introduce myself into a mix that was planned without me. I’d hate to think of everyone having to accommodate the poor dear who forced herself into the circle. I’d rather have my tv dinner and feel I was not a burden.
It’s central WV.
One Thanksgiving my hubby and I set the table for two with candles and romantic music. We put out the china, drank wine and had the lights set on low. We made it a romantic Thanksgiving for two. We enjoyed it and decided to do it again for Christmas. We also have had orphan holiday meals for people at my school who had no family in Calif. My hubby invited his two single buddies for Thanksgiving dinner when my foot was in a cast. They all three cooked the meal, prime rib, and we had a great time. We will go to Laughlin for Thanksgiving this year and have a meal with our cat and dog. We always celebrate holidays and just make it either fun with friends or have it alone and enjoy the food, wine and each other.
How wonderful, Carole!
Carole,
I do that, too, but I guess, since we’re alone together so much, it doesn’t seem like a special occasion. We really have no friends over most of the rest of the year, either, so I suppose my brain tells me that, for it to seem like a holiday, there should be more than just hubby & I–does that make sense?
I’ve tried over the past few years to volunteer on those days–and have not gotten even 1 email reply for the charities–even though they say they want you to email them, and they need help. It’s frustrating. I have a lot of love and compassion to give, and it gets thwarted every time.
I thank God fo DH’s lovely family, though I usually only get to be with them twice a year or so. They’re the family I should have had! In fact, we’re doing Xmas 2 days after Thanksgiving (only time we can coordinate our schedules). We did this last year, too. BIL’s friends, who have 3 little boys, also come over. It’s so nice to have little ones in our house. This house seems so lonely without children (I decided not to have kids due to health concerns. I’ve always wanted children, though.)
Very cool… B)
Anonna….I didn’t mean to sound like an “what you should do is this” person. Like you, I will be spending my Thanksgiving dinner by myself. I do, tho, pre-order a take-out meal from my local restaurant. I miss my stuffing! The best….just too much work for one person.
Oh, I didn’t take it that way. I know that people want to help with suggestions.
Sounds like a plan!! Also, since you are so involved in the church, you might suggest that they have the dinner….if they have the room and the Pastor is willing.
Stepping out of your comfort zone can frequently be beneficial. Who knows how much good might come from it.
Get drunk and stay drunk. Best holiday advice ever.
Uuuh, yack… at least her toes were not rolling off the edge as they do with her strappy shoes – that’s so gross – makes me think of barnacles and ginger roots. I guess with MOOCH it’s just the idea of wearing designer outfits or lovely shoes…it’s all looking wonderful in her delusional head.
Isn’t it disgusting that they left her dirty toe prints in the shoe for all to see — do you think the dirt was so ground in that they couldn’t get it out?
It’s disgusting that MOO didn’t wear nylons.
MOO goo???
Oh ick, so disgusting!!!! That means she is leaving body stains on expensive outfits (I hope they are not loaners) and other shoes. I bet the Queen had to run around Buckingham Palace with stain remover to get the stains out of the upholstered furniture afterr Mooch’s visit.
So you’re saying they actually let MOO sit for a while? LOL!
aaaccck. There goes my dinner
I just knew this was going to happen…an idiot so stuck on his ideological beliefs he kills off 200,000 jobs in OH…one “El” Michele should be very happy she picked this winner and his consort…all those minority jobs not going to happen…not in OH or anywhere else thanks to BObo the clown prince.
http://campaign2012.washingtonexaminer.com/blogs/beltway-confidential/obama-usda-delays-shale-drilling-200k-jobs
I’m with Rush. This is all on purpose. The Republicans have so many weapons with which to defeat this guy that if they don’t do it, it will be their own damn fault!
I am estatic that fracking will NOT be permitted in OH. Are you not aware of the dangers of this practice? The danger to humans, animals, farmland, well water etc. is unrecoverable.
BTW – I read that the majority of you hens were lamenting the fact that your Thanksgiving would be spent alone with tv dinners or your husband because either your families don’t want or you have no friends.
It must be horrible to be so disliked that your famillies won’t even grant you a charity dinner invitation atleast once or twice a year. Did you ever stop to think that it’s not them, it’s you?
Michele, you’re back and I see that you are as nasty as ever…….keep showing your LIBERALNESS!
BTW – We’re still waiting that list of MOO’s accomplishments.
Just keeping up with the senior Jones.
I love the shrill words of jealous conservatives. It’s eating you folks up. LLS!
BTW – I’m still not doing your research.
We have posted the results of our research. MOO is an embarrassment to this country and her clothing is that of a clown. You have said we are jealous. Please show why. You won’t because she doesn’t have any accomplishments outside of those provided from Affirmative Action – and then she couldn’t keep them!
Show us the list of MOO accomplishments!
LOL – You are jealous and bitter.
You are angry and bitter that you have an African American President and First Lady. The anger oozes in your choice of words to describe the POTUS and FLOTUS. This is not about their politics, it’s about race. You will all deny it of course, but your hoods have slipped so often you might as well stop wearing them.
Life has come full circle and you folks are fast becoming the minority. That scares the bejeesus out of all of you. That is why you teabaggers constantly scream, “We need to take our country back!”
You folks come from an era when Black men and women were only fit to raise your children, clean your homes and wash your laundry. You came from an era when an African American who dared look you in the eye was considered an arrogant upstart who was only fit to swing from a high tree limb.
I know this by your words and the way you continuously use the old affirmative action card. In your eyes, no Black person, regardless of their education or intelligence, can possibly attain a level of success UNLESS affirmative action is involved.
My parents taught me early that I must be twice as good to succeed in America because of the way people like you and the others on this board think. I fully understand what the FLOTUS meant when she referred to, “For the first… proud of my county…
I love, love, love how angry you folks get whenever a new article comes out about our beautiful accomplished First Lady and her handsome accomplished husband.
But you want to know what I REALLY enjoy? The fact that as hard as Republicans and FOX news has tried, they CAN NOT find any dirt on the President or First Lady. Therefore, they to try to smear the POTUS and FLOTUS with the dirt of people he knows or worked with or was friends with.
That’s all fine and good, but remember, if that rule applies to the POTUS and FLOTUS, you need to apply that rule to all politicians. LLS!
You know, that old “race” card in getting really worn. It’s all you have and since the facts aren’t on your side, you drag it out. So predictable.
Since all of the Obama’s records are sealed, nothing is available from their past. Oh, except for MOO’s thesis. Why don’t you read it……it’s clear that (1) she’s a hard core racist and (2) she is ignorant – any average high school student could have done better.
So you keep driving my Michele and keep hurling insults at people you don’t know and we all know that it’s only because you can’t list any of MOO’s accomplishments.
Have fun
.
What’s a race card?
That’s some jumbo Jimmy Choos. Bet her sweaty feet never wore those. Just put them on, took them off and tossed them across the room. Said to one of her serfs “here use these” for the Smithsonian. Would prefer she donated those $600 Lanvin sneakers……much more representative of her grace, style and femininity, I think:-) probably did win award for biggest first lady feet. Stomach gets queasy thinking of those two in the people’s house. Seems so wrong.
I think she did wear them for the night…thus the dirty toe marks on the shoe fabric….
She did wear them. There are numerous photos. In fact, there’s on of them on the back of a golf cart wheeling them around. I’ll see if I can find it.
Here we go, about mid-way down the page. She definitely wore the shoes.

Ot: a serious thing
I’m assuming that all of you are familiar with Gabby Giffords, the Congresswoman from Tucson, AZ that was shot along with many others, some of whom died.
She was recently interviewed on TV, sitting next to her husband. The interviewer asked her questions and she had trouble putting the words together. The impression was to be that she’s made a miraculous recover. And, in a way she has.
Here’s what they haven’t told us: she has severly limited use of her right arm and right leg and is unable to walk without help. (remember her visit to the floor of Congress to cast a vote and all the people standing around her?…they were holding her up) She has lost about 50% of her vision. While she seems to understand what is said to her, she has trouble finding words and can’t make a complete sentence. There are miracles and I wish one for her.
My question or asking for your opinion; should she run for re-election next year or should she resign and focus on her physical recovery?
No way should she run. Anyone who thinks she should is being selfish. Gifford doesn’t have the stamina for the job at this point.
I didn’t see the original interview, but did see and listen to some of the clips. She has made incredible progress. Butt…this woman is not capable of representing her people in our federal government.
I think she (and the people around her) should select the “resign” button. Is she your congress-person? Actually, who is holding her up…the voters? The DNC?
She’s not my congresswoman.
There is so much spin and outright deceit about her condition. It’s not fair to the people in her district.
She should have resigned months ago.
i would have.
This came to mind…Pinal County Sheriff Babeu is considering a run in the new 4th district. He has been relentless in bashing “Fast & Furious”…would make an excellent new congressman!
http://www.politico.com/news/stories/1011/66685.html
No, she should not run. Representing the people is NOT a job for someone who cannot form sentences (even if Maxine Waters and her ilk came to my mind as I wrote that). The Congresswoman has brain damage and all the good will in the world will not change that. If she recovers, then she can run again, but to make her presence in the House a matter of charitable action or pc-ness would be wrong.
Just wow!
Still waiting for that long long list of MOO’s accomplishments!
Still not doing your research.
Geez Moo, please increase the font size on the monitor so I don’t have to keep typing the same response. Or are you having Alzheimers moments?
You’re a drive-by poster. You drive, hurl insults, and then move on. We’re all waiting for that nonexistent list of MOO’s accomplishments
BTW, have you seen the new book on MOO’s incomparable style? She is incomparable – that is……………incomparably bad!
Nope – I’m not as infatuated with other women as you folks are. Not that there is anything wrong with that. It’s just strange that you hens on this blog keep discussing in intimate details the FLOTUS’ buttocks, lips, hair, breasts etc.
I’m starting to wonder what’s really going on.
You seem to be overly infatuated with Michelle Obama or you wouldn’t pop in here, hurl insults, and then skip out really fast. Show us your list of her accomplishments.
No – Im intrigued that a group of hens created a blog to discuss another woman’s anatomy in detail – and that they do it all day long. I love reading your code words and I love reading what you aren’t writing in words but mean in theory. Especially when some of you really believe you are being clever. That cracks me the hell up!
I came across this blog by accident – and, like any train wreck, i couldn’t tear my eyes away.
I skip in and out because I have a career, I have a social life, I exercise and I read for enjoyment and to learn new things – such as what fracking is doing to the health of people and communities.
It’s quite cathartic to spew back at you biddies what you hurl out.
That said, I’ve got to go. Been on long enough and I’ve got some things to do before it gets too late. But don’t you worry your silly little head, I’ll be back, because you folks are like crack! LLS!
You’re a paid drive-by. It won’t work.
I saw the entire interview and she really is extremely fortunate and will probably continue to improve. They had Bob Woodard from ABC on (sustained severe brain injury in Iraq, could hardly speak, and now is back at work), and if he is an indication, she could very well recover to a great extent. He had the same difficulties with speech that she does and he indicated that he is STILL improving.
I believe that she understands absolutely everything and it is also my understanding that she knows what she wants to say, but can’t organize the words. It was explained pretty well.
I like her and wish her only the best. i pray that she makes a full recovery. If she’s the person I perceive her to be, she won’t run for re-election – barring more miraculous improvement between now and then. She clearly needs to keep rehabbing and she clearly needs to devote all her time to that recovery. If she makes the kind of recovery that Bob Woodard has, I don’t see why she can’t resume her career. In fact, if she gives up her seat now, recovers well enough to go back to work, then I think she could have any job she wanted. She would be a hero.
People are kind and understanding, butt that only goes so far. The people of her district need to be represented and if she’s selfish and tries to keep the seat while she can’t perform the job, I think it will be a huge detriment to her on several levels.
One thing that was extremely interesting is the difference between singing and speaking. With trying to talk, it was explained as the words being in the brain but with jumbled letters. The brain has to be retrained. George H W Bush and Barbara Bush went to see her in the early days and the only word she could say to them was “chicken.” She could laugh. She said as many as 3, maybe 4 words in the interview. Butt, she can sing entire songs.
The bullet went through the left side of the brain – kind of between sight and speech. That’s why her brain needs to be retrained. They said that with singing, multiple parts of the brain are involved such as speech combined with pitch, etc., and that with many areas being stimulated, people with brain injury can sing, but maybe not speak. It was fascinating.
They went on to say that neurologists learn most about brain injury from injured patients and their recovery route. They said there is still so much they don’t know.
Butt, Gabby Giffords is lucky in so many ways and I really do pray that she makes a full recovery. It will be fascinating to watch. May God bless her.
What do you all think about this?
http://sadhillnews.com/2011/11/18/special-privileges-for-special-people-%e2%80%93-teenage-transsexual-demands-access-to-girls%e2%80%99-bathroom
Teen high-school boy who calls himself a girl isn’t satisfied that he is allowed to use the 7 staff bathrooms on the school campus, he wants to use the girls’ bathrooms. His mother is very upset that her “daughter” is “being discriminated against.”
The comments are very supportive and try to “educate” people on how we should feel about boys who claim to be girls and I suppose the next step is that he’ll use the girls’ lockeroom and shower with them.
This kind of nonsense is just that – it’s nonsense.
We are heading down slippery slopes. I believe that letting a child dress as the opposite sex and then letting that child pretend that he or she is actually the opposite sex is insane. But worse is the expectation that the rest of society is supposed to permit them to decide which gender they want to be called and then to receive the ‘benefits’ of a different gender.
What’s to stop a 15-year boy from dressing like a girl in order to shower with the girls? Don’t we as a society see where this kind of thing is heading?
What those who deviate from normal and expected gender behaviors want and now expect is to control society. It is no longer acceptable to be tolerant and accepting of all human beings – we must accommodate them in whatever way they choose, even when it conflicts with what is normal and has been normal since man first roamed the earth.
There are so many ways that we need to take back society. God knows Christians can’t have Bible study in school because someone may be offended, butt you need to have special books to educate children of the accomplishments of famous homosexuals.
Loss of morality and the standards to which society should strive have been the downfall of numerous societies in history. It’s truly frightening.
It’s interesting that they did accommodate the boy and now he wants more. Quiet accommodation has become a matter of policy.
Transgender to me is a murky area that holds lots of potential for trouble. If a person goes through all the treatments and has the operation then I say their delusion is obviously so strong that it may be right to support in them in their new “gender.” But parents like the woman who mothers “Princess Boy” and wrote a child’s book about his liking to twirl around in his pink dress are not doing anyone any favors. It may well be that this boy is just exercizing an excellent way to get attention that he’s discovered. The same with this high schooler — no way does he look like a girl. He may be only a trouble youth who needs counseling not a world that revolves around his confusion.
There are people who genuinely believe that they were born the wrong gender and this is a brain problem imo. There are also people who believe that their arms or legs or a single limb is ugly and does not belong on their body. For a short while in Britain there was a surgeon who was doing “therapeutic” amputations — can you believe that? Should we agree that this person is right and the fact they have a two-legged body is some sort of limb-discrimination? People might say, “Oh, but having two legs is normal.” Well, so is being the gender that you were born into.
Anona, yes, there are the extremes who go through the operations and I do think that’s a separate category. I remember when my nephew (now 20, college brain-iac) was about 2. When he would visit and I would be putting on makeup, he wanted to do so as well. I would tell him it was for girls, but would do a splash. Later, when he was around 3 and could talk in sentences, he would try to sneak a peek when I would dress lol. Children go through phases. There are girls who are tomboys. There are rather effiminate boys who grow up to excel in sports that are non mainstream such as fencing.
There are hermaphrodites (children born with both genitalia). Parents used to decide which gender they wanted and then the surgery was done while they were very young. What was discovered is that later on, the gender became apparent and it wasn’t always what the parent had chosen.
So, it appears that there are truly people in the wrong gender body. Butt, anyone who has been around children knows that they go through phases. In the interest of having children grow into healthy adults, I believe that the safe route is to treat them as they were made by God. I can’t imagine that letting a little boy call himself a “she” and letting him dress as a girl and insisting that he be treated as a girl can do anything but cause mass confusion in that little soul.
And what will life be for “Princess Boy” when he becomes a young man — will he laude his mother’s forcing him into the limelight on national tv so that she could make the point that she’s a great mother — or will he change his name and hide his past so not be humiliated by photos of him twirling around in a pink dress.
Princess Boy becomes Princess Man — ?
Yes, the future can’t be comfortable for this little guy or…….gal. Do these people ever think beyond the present moment? There isn’t a single child on earth who hasn’t wanted to so something that his/her parents had to say “no” to……something that wasn’t good for them. A parent’s job is to raise children to become healthy, happy, well-adjusted adults. Is this little princess going in that direction?
I have a member of my extended family who is “transgendered” . . . it has been hard on all of the family. You love the person, but the decisions are just hard to understand and accept. I have found a way to deal with it, but it is just not easy. The first time, though, that we met face to face . . . just hard to anticipate, but when it happened, it wasn’t too bad. Love just doesn’t change that fast.
totally OT, but I read some b.s. about the Fat Kids deal, aka “give Mo a project, so she can get photo ops and take free fundraising trips” It’s so blatant and in your face, I can’t believe anyone falls for it..
I got to thinking, instead of millions of dollars for b,s., what else could she have supported ?
Immediately I thought of Arts Programs in underserved schools..Who knows how much talent will never be coaxed out of these kids ? Or how an interest in the Arts could help keep kids off the streets.. Surely this must have been mentioned in the brainstorming sessions about ‘what to do with Michelle’..
I have concluded that such a program was nixed because it didn’t allow her to jump around,or compete against the little fat kids, as we have all seen her do. She would have no interest in posing with a painting class, because she has no interest in the Arts, unless it’s hiphop on her Ipod..And the photo ops would be dull. She is so ghetto, and vain to boot..What a horrid combination..
What about encouraging impoverished girls not to see check-producing motherhood as a ticket to their own apartment and income? But that wouldn’t have been interesting enough for MoochMORE — or perhaps there was fear of the failure rate.
Fat kids can always be encouraged to get thin — what would MoochMORE tell pregnant teenagers to do? There is minefield of answers.
Yes, she’s no intellectual, so jumping and dancing and racing and stuffing (off-camera) her face is about her speed.
QUOTE: “Yes, she’s no intellectual, so jumping and dancing and racing and stuffing (off-camera) her face is about her speed.”
I think you’ve described her perfectly!
MO has no skills, so causes must be created for her. I would rather her have concentrated on feeding hungry children and leave their body shapes to the parents and family doctor.
Same with the stupid Joining Forces campaign. Another excuse to travel to fundraisers on the taxpayer dime. There are plenty of military support groups, and she should have just brought awareness to those. Navy Relief, Wounded Warriors, etc.
All the military stuff is about getting the vote. They need to be seen as supporting the military – hoping to get not only votes from the military but from the public as well. It’s nothing more than that.
O/T (if there is a topic)….Lately I have been battling with city hall over some issues in my neighborhood. Abandoned and condemned housing, issues with street repairs, water and pollution control (three years to be exact) and the Health Dept. I became so fed up with the constant *passing the buck* I filed a complaint against the city with the State Attorney General. When calling city hall and my councilman, I gave them the complaint number (which they checked) and now have their full attention. All the above entities informed me no one else had complained about the issues. Told the Commissioners and my Councilman the reason no one does is the time it takes to get anything addressed, if it ever does. Now two buildings which really were nasty have been removed and grass planted on the lots. In the spring there will be bricklayers repairing the street and new storm drains installed. Even the Mayor’s office got involved. At the most recent meeting with the Commissioners I told them “I’m not going anywhere”.
Sooo, to beat BO and MO at their own game, we have to stand our ground, get the message out there clearly, and tell them “we aren’t going anywhere”. I do believe in the *Power of One*
Never give up, never surrender!
Bravo!
I, too, was involved in a one-person complaint to the city. While not as dramatic and important as your campaign, it meant a lot to me.
As a user of an electric handicap cart, there were issues with the sidewalks that prevented me from going wherever walking people could go. I started with the street department, ended up with something called “special services” and after 18 months the sidewalks and access points were changed to accomodate any handicapped person.
They kept me informed, were helpful and moved pretty fast for a gov’t (had to get specs, bids, etc).
It’s not easy or even comfortable to be a committee of one complainer. But, if your cause is righteous, good things happen.
We went through that 5 years ago. Finally the handicapped walks and curbs were installed. Now the battle is to get people to keep them free of ice to accommodate our seniors and others.
Leaving one’s comfort zone on occasion makes for a better environment for everyone to live in.
We’re lobbyists….for good causes
Hooray for both of you! You’ve given me courage!

Luvin’ it!!
FABULOUS — waht a great picture!
MO should take some of this advice……so should one “El” Michele….
““I know we sometimes say you had to have role models who look like you, well I don’t really believe that. If I had been looking for a black, female, Soviet specialist role model, I’d still be looking,” she said. “Also my role models are actually white men — as a matter of fact, old white men, because that is what my field was dominated by.”
She added that women and minorities should try to steer clear of quickly crying “sexism” or “racism,” advising that they give people “the benefit of the doubt.”
and this……
“I think it is extremely important, particularly if you are a female or a minority, not to assume the worst in people. Give them the benefit of the doubt, maybe they just don’t like what you are saying. Maybe they just don’t like you. Maybe it doesn’t have to do with your race or gender,” she said. “And if you are constantly referring to race or gender as the reason you are treated badly, then you are just going to burn yourself out.”

And if you constantly refer to race and gender to people you will be avoided because they will not want to be the target of YOUR unreasoning prejudice.
I don’t need suggestions from people like you. I’m doing well, thank you.
We’re still waiting for that list of MOO’s accomplishments.
This was posted late yesterday on MOTUS…be sure to scroll thru the slideshow…the picture captions are funny, funny, funny! BOBS and Reggie forever…

The newest video from Wild Bill for America. This is great:
from mrs-o.com … looks like the guy on the right has MOO on a leash
http://mrs-o.com/storage/132815575.jpg?__SQUARESPACE_CACHEVERSION=1321375902223
I saw that photo the other day, and mentioned the leash thing to hubby, who loved the idea!
I forgot to add: if only we could muzzle Moo, as well…
LOL
My Gawd, it looks like a mentally challenged overgrown girl. “Yaaaahhhhhhyyyyyy, Yah for me! Yay for Me!”
For those whose holidays are not all that great. Here’s a hint I learned from some of my Jewish friends.. On Christmas, they man the reception area of their local hospital, which is always decorated with a pretty tree.
another goes to his local animal shelter to walk the dogs.
My daughter’s in laws are Catholic, but they choose to spend their holidays working at soup kitchens..
Truth be told, I would consider a one person holiday a luxury. I would take a long bath, pour myself an eggnog with whiskey, and watch ‘It’s A Wonderful Life”..Bliss…
If some of you have old holiday photos from years past, look at them again, the women always look exhausted, unless, of course, they are a guest..
Yes, you have a good perspective.
I put my tree up early and open any presents sent to me. Bec I have a chronic illness I have to be careful about the volunteering part, but this year I’m going to try to go to our senior center.
I spend the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day delivering local presents and doing some shopping for next Christmas — yes, I am that sort of shopper!
On New Year’s Day I take down my tree.
it’s a pleasant, if solitary way to spend the day. I’d prefer to be a guest and help with the big day dinner, but as I have said before, that’s not the way things work here. It’s all family and no one even thinks to invite outsiders as far as I can tell. Before I moved here I was often a guest in someone’s home and from experience with my own family I think it’s nicer to have a guest. Everyone is on better behavior and appreciate each other more because a “holiday orphan” is in their midst.
I used to travel a lot so I missed a lot of holidays (but never Christmas) with my family. My nephews grew up with me not being able to watch them. I spent several holidays by myself. I would call and hear them all gathered together. Not easy.
Now, I live close to all of my family all of the time. Love it. We always make it a family thing when we get together so no one has a huge burden. It works for us.
However, we also always invite and include anyone that we know will be alone or going through a lonely period of life. Most of the time, they are people from our church. I think that is a great place to connect.
We don’t ever do anything real fancy. More of a time to sit around a table to eat and talk.
Want a tip to make your Thanksgiving and Christmas easier . . . check out dreamdinners.com. Maybe there is a store close to you. Even if you don’t want the help with the meals themselves, they can help with the stress of the holidays. And the food is healthy for you. Just a suggestion.
You know ,Obama really, really, really cares about women

Self serving b**ch ….”dig deeper” for the WTF2012??…she has got to be kidding, In other words *Give more so I can paycayshun, party, and have loads of fun you will be paying for”.
Lousy _resident, even lousier FFA.
Oooh – now I see exactly why no one wants you at their homes for holiday. You’re a mean and super jealous old gal. LOL
We’re still waiting for that long list of MOO’s accomplishments. Can only hurl nasties huh?
The truth hurts, but I think it’s best to tell it in a straight forward manner. Kind of like ripping off a band-aid all at once. It hurts like hell, but it’s quick.
Your hurl insults when you don’t know anyone here. It’s what cowards do. We’re still waiting for that list of MOO’s accomplishments.
Piming Daddies for Obama would get him more money.
MSLSD Matthews wants to know what *the misssion* is for BO’s second term…if it wasn’t so damned pathetic, I would laugh at him…
“Why are we in this fight with him? Just tell us commander, give us our orders and tell us where we’re going. Give us the mission. And, he hasn’t done it… I don’t have a sense that he’s ever had a meeting. I hear stories that you would not believe.”
Stories that are probably all true and not very nice….

Chris “Old Chris Tingles” makes me want to puke.
News Flash…Just introduced at the NASCAR race…a now-retired sniper sergeant and his family (many yays)…First Lady MOO (boos), Dr. Jill Biden (fewer boos). Glad to see those NASCAR fans did the right thing!
Oh my goodness!
Hope there were lots and lots of boos and down twinkles!!
Yay for the boos!!
In one minute, I became a diehard NASCAR fan, who knew ?
Wow, I can’t believe they had a story about the boos on the national news! I hope the significance of the boos penetrates the ego-shield of The Wons.
ESPN just aired an interview with the ladies. Ugh…they sound so uneducated. Here’s a pic, tho:
http://www.daylife.com/photo/020P0Qm1LZ3HI?__site=daylife&q=michelle+obama
Well, I see we’re growing a tail on our head.
And, we can always depend on MOO for a laugh. The top has SHINY inserts that are reflecting the light, and she’s wearing that inappropriate top with a chalk-stripe menswear pant. Unreal.
OOPS…..that photo:
http://www.daylife.com/photo/0gHXbnj3zs2Ck?__site=daylife&q=michelle+obama
Too bad she didn’t wear a jumpsuit with all her husband’s corporate sponsors’ patches sewn on…..just like the REAL NASCAR guys
The reason is that even with that monstrous boulder-butt, there still wouldn’t have been enough room for all of those sponsors
.
Oh, I just LOVE that red arrow that is drawn on the shoulder of her blouse. What a fashion-forward detail! NOT! It looks like someone got interrupted while they were making the dumb thing.
It looks like someone took a magic marker…
Well, I see Dr. Jill has been shopping in MOO’s closet – she has taken a lovely dress and paired it with a tacky inappropriate jacket – ala MOO. I’ve been suspicious of Dr. Jill – after all, she’s married to that idiot Joe Biden. If she’s trying to emulate MOO, then that proves that she isn’t all that bright.

Here’s a clip of the introduction. When military and veterans were asked to stand, it appeared that half the audience stood. Also, I couldn’t help but notice, near the beginning, she couldn’t keep her hands of the little boy in front of her…he obviously didn’t like it. Always pawing at anyone within grabbing distance.
http://www.theblaze.com/stories/did-michelle-obama-and-jill-biden-get-booed-at-a-nascar-race-sunday/
For pete’s sake, couldn’t they find any White kids at NASCAR?
Will drop this video off too. Can’t listen to it enough! Didn’t we say this was a bad idea, head’s will roll at the WTF headquarters
Good clip…it did omit the sergeant and family story, and why they were there.
As a die-hard NASCAR fan, I have to admit, I wasn’t pulling for Smoke (Tony Stewart)…I was pulling for the duck (aka AFLAC sponsor of Carl Edwards). But, what a hell of finale it was…after tens of thousands of racing miles, 9 months of racing, this championship came down to one on one…3 point differential. And in the end, Smoke won by less than a second. We should note, he has called himself a conservative, and last month when the NASCAR drivers were invited to the Big White, he declined….
NO awards given to those who just showed up and tried….
Like sophie, I think I have become a devoted NASCAR fan….. LOL
That was just beautiful…..{sigh}
Dang rain delay at the race…looks like MOO is really, really having a good time:

I MO and JB promoting military support at something like NASCAR so distasteful and ignorant.
The people of NASCAR ARE the military, they don’t need someone like these two to act like they “love” the military. Every family there either has someone now serving or has served in the military and are and always have been proud of it.
And, I’ll take the hit if any troll shows up here: MO looked like she just came from a low-class ghetto with her sloppy hair and mismatched outfit.
Exactly. It would be like Ann Coulter showing up at an OWS rally.
What are the odds she also did a ‘private fundraiser’ while in Fl..? At least she’ll have that nice money to haul home..Moo never has made a public service appearance without getting something else out of it..Oth, maybe she’s down for a ‘refreshment’ there are plastic surgeons on every corner in So.Fl.
I’m pissed because the weasels took two planes to Hawaii just so she could get her ass out of Washington for a vacay, then Oman continued on his trip to Austrailia, etc. Yes, screw the taxpayers once again.
Surely she could wait till Christmas. The word detest comes to mind when I think of those two.
