I had the sound turned down, and would glance up every so once in a while from my work. He was painted orange.
My husband live blogs with friends during political events, he was typing furiously, so…. I suspect there was much LOL and Facepalm! during the blogging.
When you have it on CC, and just watch the words parade by the window, it’s easier to see that they mean very little. Besides, his showmanship is running thin.
He tried conservative words, “You work hard to earn what you have.” etc. Personally, it was a wash.

More unfortunate Barbara Tfank – and from her 2012 Resort Collection (no one told Mooch those are for women who go on cruises and to places like Florida that are warm and sunny in January). The last fiasco from this designer was the epic fail at Buckingham Palace – the pale blue satiny number with the flared skirt (worn with the baby pink flared bolero) that blew up and darned near showed us her thong.
Tfank does retro stuff in Asian silks. I remember the full skirted looks from the 50s and the slim sheaths from the 60s. They worked on very slim bodies. Tfank’s sheaths and the bodices on the dirndl numbers fit like wallpaper. One is supposed to have some boobs (though not too big) and a small waist and flat belly. Unless they are cut properly for the body wearing them, they bind and bulge and wrinkle in all the wrong places.
This one squashes Mooch’s poor unboobs and, as a poster remarked elsewhere, the belly looks as though she’s hiding an old-fashioned red rubber hot water bottle, plastered vertically to her mid-section.

What I noticed before the speech as the cameras panned all over the audience was that all the women were dressed in conservative suits or dress suit ensembles in various colors. Dem,Repub, Black, White, Asian, they all looked really nice. And then, here comes MO with her inappropriate, ill-fitting satin cocktail dress.
I think she’s doing this on purpose, that she refuses to dress appropriately and wants to make everyone notice her.
Butt she does not have a clue how stupid she looks – getting attention for all the wrong reasons as usual.

The reason he does not run is because of his wife. She left him and their daughters and ran off with a doctor to California. A few years later she came back. She is really not ready for prime time. I think he could make a case for constancy in marriage however because he did take her back and kept the family together. She never went with him to Washington. I think she is rather immature and fragile. Indiana is a poor state and Mitch has been an excellent manager in my view. He does not get into petty stuff.

At first I thought it significant that they had to put her whole front in shadow to make her look all right. But I think on second look that they photoshopped that shadow on her front to be extra dark. It is nearly black and completely conceals the ill-fitting top and the gut appearance. It must be hard to work in the WH choosing MoochMORE’s photos.

You sound just like me! My wedding was a little less than $3000; I wanted no debt, and to be able to buy a house. I made my own gown (an 1860′s style; I was a Cicil War rreanctor then), and hubby & I did most of the cooking (he worked as a sous chef at one time, so he’s a great cook). And my gown was silk satin–and cost less than $300.00. I made my Matron-of-Honor’s gown (she wasn’t a reenactor, hence, I had to make her dress, too) for less than $40.00.
We made our reception outfits, but opted for a traditional white suit for the wedding.
We had a Halloween party afterwards, it took the stuffiness away from the guests and the menu, buffet sandwiches are best when your best man is dressed like a Roman soldier.

I don’t think that will happen. First, I believe his legal residence is Houston Texas; he wouldn’t be eligible to run for her seat. That’s one of the reasons she has been recovering and being treated there. Second, she obviously has a long way to go in her recovery and I believe that he is a big part of that; I think that this is a two-person effort. JMO
He has already stated that he has no interest in Congress or politics. MsGiffords is probably as good as she will ever be. While we thank God that she’s still alive, she’s paralyzed on the right side, is legally blind (50% loss) and is unable to make complete sentences without coaching. It is a tragic loss for everyone involved, just awful.
There have been several candidates making noise about her keeping her seat and being unable to serve. we’ll see how that all shakes out this year.
I watched the ABC interview with Diane Sawyer. It hasn’t been that long since the interview, and she had difficulty with putting together three words. Her speech in her resignation speech was far better than that interview. Bob Woodward (received severe brain injury in Iraq) continued to improve over several years and at one time was as deficient in speech as Gabby Giffords. He is now back at work. While her physical defects probably won’t improve much, the doctors in the interview were optimistic. They also said that with these types of injuries, they learn from their patients. They simply can’t predict.
I certainly wish her well and hope that she continues to improve.

“My plate” or “mi plato” — well, I’m not buying Goya products if I can avoid them. They are promoting the balkanization of the USA.
I may have posted this before, but it regards a friend whose husband came here in the early Cuban exodus (was going to be temporary). He was 8 and spoke only Spanish, so when placed in school, he had a difficult time. But, he did learn and became educated in English. He is bilingual. His mother – to this day – doesn’t speak English and has refused to move out of little Cuba in Miami. And, if he hadn’t gone through the difficulty of having to learn English, he most likely wouldn’t be the cardiac surgeon that he is today. So, that is the reason that every child in this country needs to be raised with English as his/her primary language because that is the only way to reach his/her full potential.
And, I will add that there’s nothing wrong with learning Sanish (or another language) as well. In fact, children who learn more than one language growing up seem to do better in school. I have a cousin whose wife is from Costa Rica. When their daughter was born, the mother taught her not only English, but Spanish. When she would take her to Costa Rica to visit, she spoke fluent Spanish without an accent. We called her little Miss 4.00 because of her grade average. She was bumped ahead in school twice, graduated at 16, and went to college on scholarships.
It is truly a disservice to children to not prepare them as well as possible for success as adults and in this country, the first step is certainly to be educated in English.
Here in the “old” Southwest in the ’50′s thru the ’70′s, it wasn’t at all unusual for grandparents to speak only Spanish. You have to know, New Mexico became a state in 1912…Spanish was the language. The first generation from grandparents was bilingual…second generation was English only. I won’t repost my ex-dh’s story…but it is sad, IMO.

MOOCH falls for the flattery because she was never considered remotely attractive or stylish until the forces put Barry in power. Amen, Tanna. I didn’t enjoy the apron I made in 7th grade Home Ec…but by my senior year in hs, I never wore the same outfit twice. Granted, mini-skirts were the rage, but I could go home and in less than 2 hours sew a new skirt or dress. I designed and made all my party dresses, as well.
My ex-dh grew up watching his mom sew on an old treadle machine. When we decided we wanted to do purple Mr. & Mrs. Santa to raise money to buy phone cards to send to the troops…he designed & made our costumes without any pattern…I was so impressed! There’s a photo somewhere on the web….
I’ve taken that love of creativity and it has supported me for more than 20 years. It’s about taking that next step….
