There is a debate going on in our country about “fairness” and “paying your fair share”.  We’ve heard from Warren Buffet that he wants to pay more in taxes. But, he has been fighting not to pay 900 million he already owes in taxes. As Chris Christie says “shut up and write the check”. That would be fair. Is it “fair” that the Payroll tax cuts, set to expire, passed in both houses of Congress but, 500 billion was cut from Medicare to pay for it? We all have compassion for the poor, particularly our children who make up the poorest of our population. But, is it fair to the taxpayers to have to pay for every child born to a single mom? The statistics are appalling; 72% of children born to black women are in single parent homes, 41% of children born to hispanic women are single parent homes, 27% of children born to white women are single parent homes, with the highest percentages to women under 30 years of age. Throwing more money at the problem would not cure the problem. In fact, the problem got worse when the government started throwing money at teen-age girls who got pregnant.

Children born and raised without fathers are a major problem to society and to themselves. There is nothing “fair” about increasing the number of such children.

The fairness meme that BO and the Dems spout and the class warfare going on may be politically expedient, but it has done nothing to address the real problems our country is faced with. The wealthy are not the problem, nor are they the answer. The “gimme” mentality has to end. Fairness of outcomes can’t be guaranteed in any society or by any politician. To wage class warfare on any segment of the population demeans us all……
